Many Nappy Returns

Spring Osteo Clinic (“Spring”) has returned as a drop off point for the latest Nappy Collective campaign that starts today!

The Nappy Collective (“TNC”) campaign which runs twice a year collects leftover unused disposable nappies and redistributes them to organisations that support families in crisis or in need.

The concept behind the Melbourne based organisation is simple: many parents have a stash of outgrown nappies gathering dust in their cupboards. At the same time, mothers fleeing family violence often struggle to provide for their young children, often changing their babies less frequently or forgoing other basic essentials to afford sufficient nappies. TNC’s solution is to give parents an opportunity to collectively help families in crisis by donating their handful of nappies.

TNC has a strong growth track record, with the total number of nappies collected being 226,207 in their first 18 months of operations. The May drive is expected to be TNC’s largest drive yet, collecting leftover unused nappies in 15 cities and towns at over 210 drop points around the country.

“We are excited to be part of this campaign,” says Spring Osteopath, Dr Amanda Pike, “it helps us to give back to the community. Many of our patients are or have families with young babies and toddlers and we felt this would give us and our patients an opportunity to participate in a campaign that is close to the heart and has a large impact for those it assists”.

Spring patients are invited to simply bring their unused nappies to their next appointment, whilst the wider Surrey Hills community is invited to utilise the drop off point at any time during the clinic opening hours.

Spring Osteo Clinic is located at 356 Canterbury Road, Surrey Hills. Nappies can be dropped off from 1 May to 15 May 2015, Monday to Friday 7.30am – 7.30pm and Saturday 8am-1pm.
